Barcelona is one of Europe’s most dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystems and home to over 1,200 startups with ambition and global vision. In its 2017 report on the European Technological Panorama, the investment fund Atomico highlights that Barcelona ranks fourth in Europe in volume invested in startups (722 million dollars) in 2017. Atomico also names Barcelona as the third city of preference for entrepreneurs to create a new startup, after London and Berlin.

Catalonia has always had a strong industrial sector, which has today become an eager mobile industry client: ICT, business solutions, retail and smart cities represent the sectors with which mobile companies more frequently work. Other important sectors include transport, health and public services. ICT is also closely related to activity in Smart Cities, the Internet of Things, m-health, gaming, e-commerce, all of which are highly active sectors in Catalonia.

El passat dimarts 20 de setembre l’auditori Cibernàrium de l’edifici MediaTIC va celebrar el segon esmorzar de la quarta edició del cicle d’esmorzars-networking amb l’acte “Afrontar l’escletxa digital”. Organitzat pel CTecno, amb la col·laboració i el patrocini de Barcelona Activa, l’acte va debatre sobre si les TIC són un element inclusiu o exclusiu i quins són els reptes per afrontar la fractura digital.
